The Fiery Stronghold- Work your way up the ramp past the lines of fire and the Thwomp. Step on the green platform and rise to the ceiling. This is the first time that you will encounter a multi-gravity area. The arrows on the wall point the way it is going in case you are unsure. Start by heading right and jumping to the coins to be pulled to the ceiling. Leap over the flames and into the next set of coins only when the platform is below. Now ride the platform and jump once again into some more coins. Dodge the flames and the Thwomp, and step on the yellow platform. Position yourself in between the flames and ride to the top, or all the way around if you want a 1-Up Mushroom. Run quickly under the Thwomp and past the flames, take the elevator up and past some more flames to meet Bowser. He will spit fireballs at the walkway, so move fast, and be sure to get the Power-Up Mushroom in the crystal.
Let’s start off with his three main attacks: Fireballs which you can easily dodge by just moving, ground pounding in which he will produce 1-3 waves, and jump attacks of course where he will try and squish you. Now to damage him, look for a time when he jumps and spins in the air. This means that he’s going to try and ground pound you, so position yourself on one of the blue panels. Wait for his shadow to appear on it and then run for your life. He will smash into the panel and his tail will be set on fire due to the lava. The problem is that he is too fast so you can’t exactly run after him. The trick is to either stand where you are, or run in the opposite direction. When he sees you he will turn back around, and this is the time to perform a spin attack on his tail. Bowser is now on his back, so perform another spin attack on him. Repeat this process two more times to defeat him.
